FBI agents swarmed a west Omaha home Thursday.

Records show it belongs to a distinguished Omaha doctor.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center said he no longer works there.

There are no charges or even any court records about the warrant or the raid.

Homeowners in the Mission Park neighborhood said more than a dozen unmarked cars pulled up on their street.

Then FBI agents with assault rifles and shields jumped out and started running toward the home around 8:30 a.m.

Agents were still working outside the home near 168th and Harrison streets around 1:00 p.m.

Records show the house belongs to Dr. Jailin Zheng.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirms agents served a federal warrant at that address Thursday but would not comment further.

Video shows agents coming and going from the home and carrying in what look like toolboxes.

Zheng is a Chinese national.

Neighbors said he and his family have not lived there consistently for a couple years, but the home is still registered in his name.

UNMC said Zheng is no longer employed there.

A search of articles posted by the university shows Dr. Zheng came to UNMC in

In 2011, UNMC said he led efforts for a partnership with China, even meeting with the Chinese president.

A 2013 article shows Dr. Zheng is named a vice-chancellor overseeing UNMC Asia Pacific Rim Development Program.

In 2014, UMNC articles show that partnership with China is "strengthened" by opening a satellite office for biomedical cooperation and healthcare education in Shanghai. Dr. Zheng is in the ribbon-cutting photo.

UNMC did not say when Zheng stopped working for the university.

Neighbors said the Zheng family has always been kind and that they lived there more than 20 years without any issues.

Those neighbors have no idea why the FBI was there Thursday.

It’s unclear where Zheng is. The FBI said the investigation is ongoing.
